hi i am going to buy a new Iphone 4S from a local Apple retail very soon.

I am completely newbie to it. but I am a serious buyer I don't want to get something unhappy

I have been research on web and find out something I need to check about when I first get a brand new Iphone 4S from the staff,

I would llike to know if I've missed anything about that.

check IMEI
check the model part
check dead pixel
check whether any yellow line / splotches
check button responsivness
check camera by snapping a shot and using flash
check sound quality by making a test call
cosmetic - check whether any scratches or rough edge.

is there anything else? anything I've missed?

Thanks!

If you were buying second hand, then yes to all those, however your buying brand new so you will be covered by warranty, so if any problems develop over the first year just get it exchanged under warranty.

I recently got a refurbished 4S 16GB through AT&T. It works fine but I've noticed that every time I'm putting the phone on speaker only one speaker works and the other not. Is that normal? Also how could I check for dead pixel, yellow line, and also what's the use of checking for IMEI? Thanks in advance

If you don't see dead pixels, and yellow line that mean there are none!

By the way, is there any way to know why any, refurbished, iPhone was fixed one day when was new?
