Hello guys, sorry if this issue has been resolved beforehand and/or is an elementary concern but...

If I have an existing phoneline with AT&T, could I simply buy an iPhone tomorrow and establish a familytalk plan? One line being my current LG phone and the other my iPhone? The only reason I am asking this question is because my current line is not eligible for an upgrade. I was told today by a rep that the only options for existing customers were either to terminate your current line or pay an extra $200 for an early upgrade fee. Will this be too much for an Apple rep to comprehend or is this a regular occurrence? :)

Thanks in advance!

Its a perfectly acceptable thing to do, for all they know you are adding a line for a son, daughter, wife or husband.

Thank you jediistar, I know it sounded like a ridiculous question, but thats what a very...ehm...questionable representative from at&t told me I couldn't do today and I just wanted to clarify.
