Going to Vegas for 4 days, need battery suggestions for iPhone 5

Will be going to Vegas for 4 days soon. Will be my first time there. Obviously we will be out and about for the majority of the day and the night. I have serious concerns about how to make my iPhone 5 last for over 16-18 hours a day. I don't really plan on bringing a backpack with me and my wife doesn't want to bring a purse either, it will just be me in my t-shirt and jeans, roaming the strip....so that makes things a bit tricky.

Should I get an external battery case like Mophie?
- Pros: No need to carry lightning connector or anything extra in the pocket
- Cons: Makes phone heavy, wife can't charge her Samsung GS3

Or

Should I go with an external battery pack?
- Pros: Can charge both my wife's S3 and my iPhone
- Cons: Need to carry charging cables and the battery pack separately...will probably end up need a backup just to carry this stuff.

Any other suggestions? Looking for tips from people who have been to Vegas before.

when I have gone to vegas, i just carry a ac adapter and cord on me at all times in my cargo shorts
 
You're in vegas why would you need to be using your phone constantly? FFS unplug and enjoy vegas.

I bet a majority of the items in your home were produced in china.... any problem with those?

IF you must have something to extend battery life I say go with a battery case that way it's all together in one unit and not 3 (phone, cord, and batter) Tell your wife your not her pack mule and if she wants more power to figure it out AND you're in Vegas... it's 100+ degrees.... maybe shorts will be better than jeans? My advice.

I own both this battery back and this battery case. They both do a great job when called upon.

In your case, I would probably go with the battery pack. It's really small and when I need to take it out I usually just rubberband my lightning cable around it and its not an issue. :)

None of the above. Enjoy Vegas, just charge up your phones every night.

If you bring more than just your phones and wallets, you won't be able to go inside the casinos and play slot machines etc.
 
My wife and I are frequent visitors to Vegas, and we've have never needed anything more than the standard charging cable and wall plug. But then again, we've never spent 16-18 hours away from a wall charger and only used our phones for picture taking and an occasional map look up.

Although for your wife, I recommend a crossbody purse. My wife has one and brings it whenever we go to Vegas.
