I am really scratching my head on why they made them white. The space grey and white models both have bands that roughly match the color of the aluminum, but for some reason they are white on the gold model. It just makes no sense to me, the white model has a grey one so why isn't this one's gold? It sticks out like a sore thumb and the other models look much better because of it.

I personally think it would be even more tacky if they made it gold or something. I actually grew to like the white bands.

I couldn't see why... what's a little more gold if it makes it look better? The bands just kind of disappear on the other two models but still stick out just as much as the two toned back on the 5/5S did. It's unsightly.

I had a Gold 5S and loved it.

Specifically went for a Space Grey 6 Plus because I hated the White bands on the Gold 6/6Plus.

No idea why they went for this design.

Love my Space a Grey though :D

I actually liked the glass bands on the 5/5s :D

I really wouldn't worry too much about it, the phone is gorgeous in the flesh and the bands make virtually no difference at all IMO. I would imagine the bands were manufactured in white because it complimented the white as opposed to having them gold which would most likely have clashed being two different tones.

I have not seen my band since I removed it from the box and slipped it into the Sedio Surface case. It is a non issue to me, even if I did not use a case. I got the grey like usual, those who got the gold are looking for a fashion look in my opinion. That is their choice.

maybe some but not all. Some buy things because they like them.

gold 6 and 6+ looks really cool. Like iPhone for a king, not a pre-Madonna (wow theres a word I haven't used since the 80's :D)

Those bands are terrible for me. It shouldn't matter if you put a case on though, which would be advisable if you want to hold a more consistent body in your hands.

I thought the white bands looked bad online, but seeing the gold in person, I actually think they look the best because they don't try to color match.

What's a pre-Madonna? Is that the same as a prima donna?

I like the gold, it matches me. Plus, it's different as well; Apple does gold well. Though, I don't nor would I ever wear gold jewelry.

sort of the same. Its spelled that way as insult. The 80's was a funny time :D

I did exactly the same. Loved the gold 5S, but the gold 6 just did not work for me. Loving the Space Grey

Let's be honest, the bands look like crap on all models, but the white bands on gold aren't nearly as bad in person. White/gold are a nice color combination I think, but whoever pointed out that aesthetics are subjective was dead on. Why did they do it? Because someone thought it looked good. You don't. Life goes on.
