I think Apple actually did the unbelievable. Usually the new color is hard to get (iPhone 7+ jet black). But this time. They actually have stock and made them appropriately

Not a fan of the gold color, a bit tacky to me but it all about personal taste. With it in a case you won’t see anyway.

the band is nice but the back is horrible...

The gold color is pretty feminine. Not sure why apple didnt do a darker gold to match the band it doesnt look good

I think gold is going to do really well long-term, some are saying it’s ‘tacky or feminine’, but altogether, I think it’s a really nice shade.

Unless you know the exact production numbers for each carrier, color, storage capacity, and so on, you can't surmise that Gold is a dud. Apple may have used the 5s Gold as a warning that people want Gold over the other colors and now that Gold has no white bezels, it may be even more attractive than it was in the past.

Simply put, Apple may have doubled production on the Gold for this year's phones and that is why it took "so long" for the Gold to slip in shipping estimates.

Apple have learnt their lessons from the jet black and stocked up on gold, I expect. That’s the only exciting colour this year in the XS range. The hands on footage makes it look gorgeous!

Each to their own, but I think Space Gray is due an update. It’s uninspired and dull.

Gold Xs Max were the first phones with the ship dates pushing back, here in USA.

Gold slipped in estimates first here in USA, at least in the SIM-free phones.

Plus - I recall people kicking and screaming that Apple needed to release a Gold-with-Black-bezels, back in the 5s days.

Well, they pretty much got their wishes now.
