Just came back from my trip to the Bahamas, where my phone slipped out of its case and fell on the brick floor. Even in the drop tests online, mine looked in worse shape than after the 6-7 drops in most videos (shards of glass everywhere). I also broke the back glass the first time last month from a 2 foot drop (it was on my lap, got out of my car and it fell on my driveway, cracking the back glass and rear camera 'sapphire' glass. To me in my personal experience, the glass isn't any better than previous versions. I was really surprised on the first break, the second one i knew it would be destroyed.

This time i got glass screen protector for the front and back, as well as a new case so the back literally cannot break again no matter how much i drop it.

I really wanted to use the phone without any protection, but i think i'm a bit too clumsy to do so lol. Can't risk breaking it again as the replacement fee would be $900 now.

Good thing you had AC+, it really depends on how and what surface the device lands on when you drop it.

BTW, I thought you're covered for 2 accidental damage claim?

Edit: Oops, totally missed the part you mentioned about the first damage.

Glass protector for the back? Which case are you using?

I was never too sure about the compatibility of a back glass protector and a case.

Yes you're covered for 2, i've broken the back glass twice and have had my phone replaced twice. So now if i break it again, i have to pay the out of warranty costs.

I'm using a LV case, the back of the phone literally sticks/glues to the case, so the back glass protection works. It isn't too thick and doesn't affect closing the case.

I think that folio case is providing about zero impact protection.

Anyway, the most expensive out of warranty replacement fee for the iPhone XS Max is $599, not $900. And considering you could justify buying a tacky $405 case, I’m sure those $599 would not break your piggybank.

Good luck with your new phone(s).

I would use an otter box if I dropped my phone that many times. I hardly drop my phone, so I can get by with an Apple leather case, and screen protector.

its 880 CDN after tax. I have glass protection on the back. I don't think you've seen this case in person then. With the glass protector, im not worried about it breaking again.
