Just wondering if there's a good alternative to the $79 Apple charger for my new Retina 13." Anyone have anything they can suggest?

What, are you looking for something smaller? A general rule with electronics is to not use anything other than the recommended power supply.

The TwelveSouth PlugBug looks good, but it's not going to be any smaller and is more for charging your iPhone at the same time.

Apple's Magsafe patent pretty much insures they're the sole supplier of MacBook chargers. Plus the new MacBooks use a slimmer Magsafe connector than the ones a couple of years ago.

Size doesn't matter, just cheaper. I'm seeing some on Amazon for $25 that have good reviews and claim to be made by the same mfg as Apple uses.

Did you buy on eBay or something and it didn't come with a charger? As stated above, due to the MagSafe standard you aren't really going to find any third-party chargers.
