Any good backpack and/ or case for both 13 and 15 " MBP??

I use a Swiss gear bag (red) to carry my MBP and other stuff around.

I doubt you can get these new any more. I got mine from Apple direct for about $80.

It's been a great bag for the laptop and very durable. I've been carrying it around for almost 4 years and there isn't any sign of wear on it yet. Still looks and feels brand new and I use it everyday.

Found it, for more $$$ than I paid for it. But here it is .

I will carry 13", but a coworker just bought a 15"

Other than your 13", you want to make sure you have enough room for books, camera you know stuff like that. This is the bag I got for my self and my camera equipment and MBP

gimmick or not, it helps

the laptop compartment is usually raised up from the bottom of the bag and additional padding surrounds the compartment

About LowePro

I have the Lowepro Fastpack 350 and I use to carry my old 17" MBP 2.16 and camera gear in it. It's a great bag.

I've had it loaded with as much as +27lbs of lenses, body and laptop. But this might not be the bag for you as it is more geared to photographers on the go. There's lots of padding that can be removed in place of other stuff/gear. LowePro bags have spacious compartments.

I'm sure the 250 or something similar can meet your needs, but LowePro is definitely a photographer's bag and might not be as stylish as other brands.

Whatever you choose, it can be a tough choice.

Also about the "gimmick" comment.

There really isn't anything gimmicky about a computer backpack when you're traveling the world with gear and laptop in tow. It's a necessity. For school, well, it's fine for that too. You decide what's important.

I have a Oakley Icon 3.0 in black

It has a padded internal compartment for my MBP (15") which fits a treat. you can get it in through the side zip, but it's very tight and you have to poke it through at a certain angle so I gave up and use the main "lid" now. My c2d MBP lived in it for over a year without any major scratches, but my i7 has always lived inside a cheap £1 pound saver sleeve in my bag and still looks brand new after 6 months. I use my bag daily to carry my MBP to work and back

ohhh, there come the flames... :D

Sorry, I should have prefaced by saying that I haven't had any experience with the "pro-level" computer bags; it's been more or less what was available at Best Buy...

That photo bag suggested above me sounds pretty awesome actually :)

i got the $80 hurley that they sell in apple stores.. mine is the knitted looking one, sorta looks like a hackie-sack ball (black/grey/white)

booq has some nice offerings. I have the boa flow xl for my 17"
media.nl
great products, well constructed
I also tried out the boa squeeze for my 17, while it fit, there wasn't a lot of room left over, hence why I got the bigger one. If you are into camera/computer bags, they have the python which is awesome.

Case for MBP 13"

Not everyones needs are the same. I seldom carry my Macbook Pro, but when I do, I need something inexpensive to protect it from damage while it is in my truck. There is always the chance of dropping it out onto the pavement. This was my $23.00 solution, a padded briefcase solely for the MBP.

purple velvet

Go for a case like booq or incase...this way no matter which bag you choose to head out with you know you're mbp is safe.

Color

Was not chosen for color or type. The fabric stretches to fit down into the corners of foam......thats it. It was made to protect a $1500.00 investment in a rough environment. Have you ever hauled wheat or driven a tractor or combine? It's rough, dirty work.

Love the booq product line, but was looking a a backpack version for a 13" which they don't have. Also limited number of places to find.

At first, I was like "no way." Then after considering it, I quite like the idea haha

I could do without the velvet lining though...

I like Tucano sleeve. IMO its 10x better than Incase sleeves and cheaper. The folks at the Apple store always ooh and ahhh when I bring it to the store.

Backpac... Timbuk2 hands down. Lots of compartments. Rugged build. Waterproof

I respect your opinion, I agree about your sleeves; but those packs are nothing for the price what I think is more available... IE... Booq, Incase and Swiss Army
