I've been given a large amount of video files on blue ray discs. Can anyone recommend an external player so I can read them? I'd ask for versions on DVD, but the person who worked on the project originally is no longer contactable.

Are they just video files burnt to a blu-ray disc or are the discs actually authored as blu-ray discs? If they are just an assortment of video files that happen to be on a blu-ray disc, I believe your only option is to play them on a computer that can read data off a blu-ray disc. If they are authored blu-ray movies though, any blu-ray player should be able to play them.

Sorry should have been clearer; loads of large .mpg files in folders on the disc.

Is there no reader/burner that is both PC & Mac compatible?

They all should work with Mac, if you can look on newegg and get a firewire one (if you have FW800) otherwise pick a USB one with a lot of reviews, and check to see if anyone said anything about using it with OSX. I'd assume it would work anyways.
