I second dpreview.com.

Do not be taken in by the gear trolls on those forums. I frequent the 1D/5D/1Ds forum frequently because many professionals with good advice hang out there (so to speak).

Yes - a very large/active, Canon-specific site. Folks obsess about gear and it'll drive you crazy after a bit, but that's also sort of the point and I obsess about gear too when I'm contemplating a new purchase.

i'm on POTN - the equipment freaks tend to stick to 2 boards. The other sections where people share their photos for C&C are great. Great for inspiration and nice to see what others can do. I recommend it!
