I'm interested in hacking the themes and icons on my mac. It would be cook to change the boot screemnor the log off screen, system icons and things like that. I've googled around and i didn't really come across anything and i thought it might be better to macrumor member opinions on the apps that they've used. I've already downloaded icons and themes, i just don't know how to apply them.

I use Shapeshifter to change the look of my menus, etc.

They make spending hours and hours on your computer less monotonous and your desktop can be a form of personal expression. I'd go craZY if I was still looking at OS X aqua icons - been what, like five years?:eek:

I use Candybar and ShapeShifter too.

I refuse to touch Candybar after it corrupted my OSX Partition, forcing a format and reinstall on the volume. <_<;

I hope they've made it less potentially screwable since then.

I have a intel mac and shapeshifter wont work for me is there anybody here that will second Candybar or might know of another app.

I'm using candy bar both at work (imac) and at home (macbook pro c2d) and I have not had any problems with it. it's pretty easy to use and it's sort become an addiction for me coz I'm constantly playing with new icons.

I recommended it! :)
