Good cheap "we're just talking" dates..

Yea. Talking. Non committed relationship might be kicking off soon enough.

So. I want some of you seasoned daters help on having some good ideas for cheap/ free places to go just talk and be together.

I live in Phoenix, Az.. If that has anything to do with it :)

Where's some good tree's. You missed the part where I live in Phoenix haha. :p
 
coffee is something I would do. Nice to just go to a quite coffee house and talk. I done that on both dates and with a good friend of mine I used to date and we will go as friends.
Hang out in a book store.
walk in the park.
Go see a movie.

Go grab lunch.

Personally I like the coffee house one. Always nice to talk with a friend.
 
I never really understood the cultural "money is no object if you're on a date" thing where restaurants and clubs suck your blood to impress someone.

Then again, being in college I don't really know any girls that'd subject me to that intentionally lol. ^_^

Kinda glad of that right now.

Phoenix is the state capital of Arizona (which is located between California and New Mexico), and the largest city in the Sonoran Desert. There are not many trees in Phoenix, but there should be a few cacti to sit on. Some of them might be really big too :D
 
Zoo - always something to talk about there, even if there's nothing to talk about.

I like the starbucks idea, actually. I dunno if she drinks coffee or what now. This will be our first time out. I was thinking of doing something nice for that instead of cheeping out.

Then, follow up with calm hang out "get to know you's".
 
Whip up a simple dinner at home. Plan the meal together, go to the store/ grocer/ market/ farmers market/ etc and get the ingredients then go home and cook.

IMO, it's simple, low key and you can learn a lot about someone by doing the simple, mundane things in life.

This is what to do, I have done it before. It is cheap while being fun and really interactive and there is always something to talk about.

After just stay in and watch a movie together, which is cheap, or go out and have some fun.

To the dinner making people, we're 20 and 18, this is new to us, we live at home haha. Not quite a good move to thrust her into my family. :cool:

GREAT idea if I didn't live at home.

I did that once. Met a lady online and we went to the zoo. But her pic was one of those 20/40 pics... Pic was from 20 years and 40 lbs ago. Reminded me too much of the ex. :p

A coffee house is always enjoyable. Anyplace but Starbucks. If she doesn't drink coffee, all the places I frequent also do tea and frozen fruit drinks. Some places the pastries are to die for. You will spend $20 bucks max depending if y'all want seconds.
 
There is ocean lab down at Arizona Mills in Tempe which can be mildly interesting if you like the ocean. If either of you are car people there is The Pavillions in Scottsdale on Saturday evenings, also the new spring training stadium there too. If you want to go somewhere mildly scenic there is the radio tower area of South Mountain and Tortilla Flats.

LeeLee's Asian Market in Tempe if you want to go somewhere interesting to buy said food ingredients, assuming you like Asian food.

Phoenix Zoo in Tempe is hot as hell this time of year, and if it were later in the year Zoo Lights would be an option.

Scottsdale/Tempe(ASU) is very 30k millionaire... you'd have to grow up here to understand the social pressures that push you that way. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of down to earth people but nothing like NAU.


What are you guys interested in? I've lived in Scottsdale/Tempe/Flagstaff for the past 16 years.
 
When I got with my girlfriend, we just sat in the sun in a park and spoke for hours (first time meeting after 15 years). She's madly in love with me now (I think) :rolleyes: :)
