Sounds like early 2011 (given the 2GHz i7). That's not bad given the big SSD and 16GB config. Not a total steal, but not bad.

But that's so cheap it's suspect. Still, you get better deals on CL than over eBay, and it's easier not to get scammed.

Given that I bought my early 2011 uMBP-15 w/ 8GB & a new licensed copy of Win7 for $900 a year ago, and figuring a small premium for the uMBP17 - I'd say $1300 is pretty decently cheap, and $1000-$1100 is a bit of a steal. Those paying $2k are suckers.

I just bought a late 2011 MBP 17 with Applecare until Feb. 2015 for $700 on craigslist. It does however have a minor cracked glass. Everything works great and the LCD is not damaged, just the glass. I know a guy that can replace the glass for $100. I think I got a good deal.
