Hi guys.
I wasn't sure if I should post this question in "Mac Help/Questions and Tips," or if I should post it here in Hardware, since it's a Hardware question specifically, so I chose here... hopefully I got the right forum.
So my question is...
I may be purchasing a new eMac in the near future, and I'd like to upgrade the RAM in it to 1 GB, or at least 756 MB. MacConnection's prices on RAM are around $90 for a 512 MB stick, and I believe the Apple Store prices are even higher than that. I was wondering if someone can suggest a good place to buy RAM for a much cheaper price. A friend told me that 512 MB of RAM can be bought for under $50 online, and sometimes even lower than that. Do any of you know of a good place, and/or do you have somewhere you've purchased RAM from for a good price, and can you share your experience/satisfaction?
Does cheaper RAM not work as good as more expensive RAM or what's the deal?
Thanks a lot everyone!
Steve
