Hi peeps..looking for a good program to rip dvds and format them for..whatever..iphone etc. I have read about some of the free ones, but im not that tech savy, so i dont mind paying a few bucks for a program that makes it easy and just works. Thanks for any advice.

RipIt to rip and Handbrake to encode.

RipIt is probably the BEST ripping software I've ever used. Insanely simple and easy to use.

Ripit is fantastic. It'll even automatically rip THEN convert & compress for your device. The user interface is dead easy. $25 well worth it. You can even try it free, I believe.

yea you get like 10 free rips I believe. It was the best $25 I've spent in a long time.

Does Ripit allow you to rip only the movie if you don't want the menus and everything else?

No. MDRP does but I've got a bug report in with the developer that when you do rip the movie only it norms up the chapter count. He was very responsive but I haven't seen a fix yet.
