Good equipment for podcasting

Ok, so me and my buddy are going to do a podcast. Just me and him talking. I have been looking at mixer and interfaces and all that, but I am really hitting dead ends because I have no idea what exactly to get. Do I need a mixer and an interface, or just an interface or just a mixer or what?

Price is kind of an issue, and of obviously it has to be mac compatible. I just need someone to point me in the right direction.

springboardstore has a podcast kit. its pretty cool actually. from what i've heard anyway. i think they just had a special on it on twitter.
