Does anyone have any recommendations on a good antivirus program I can use for my new mac? I was using Avira for my PC and it was great.

Anyone?

Thanks!

There is no need for AV on the Mac

There are several active threads discussing this
You can find them using MRoogle

The only (current) reason to use antivirus on a Mac is if you're using it in a mainly Windows environment like at work. If you get an infected file, it won't hurt the Mac, but if you pass it on to someone else, you get blamed. Despite some scare-mongering, I don't foresee this changing.

to be honest i feel no sympathy, they should be using mac's too

If you want to protect your Windows friends you can use ClamXav
It is free

But honestly... we don't need another new thread on this
We have enough active ones already

Wow that's great! I was under the impression that there must be some form of viruses or trojans or even spyware for macs. But it looks like as of yet, we're safe?

YAY! :)
