What options are there for a good free program to edit photos, similar to paint and/or fireworks MX. My pc at school has fireworks, but as i'm home for holiday, my MBP doesn't have anything on it. What options do i have for Adobe requires you to be a company and fill out forms to get their free trials.

i personally think GIMP is awful. Seashore is the best Paint replacement for me, but obviously it varies by user. additionally, this has been covered many times in this forum, so a search might be appropriate.

Yea I'm not a huge fan, but I think it has a few more features than seashore. I don't like how it uses X11 interface though.

GIMP i great if you approach it like a Unix/Linux app and can adapt to its inherently weird interface. :D It really is the next best thing to Photoshop. (though I much prefer PS) - Gimp is massively more featured than SeaShore, though that might not be useful anyway if you don't need those features.

http://www.pixelmator.com/ - Pixelmator rules if you end up wanting to spend money too.

Psychofreak: thanks for that link I'd never seen Chocoflop before. @_@ Best app name ever.
