Good HDD Brand

Hi
I'm looking for a new hard drive solution to backup/store on. I've always used Seagate in the past, but am reading lots and lots of negative reviews about them now. What are people's opinions on them?
I did think about using a 2 bay raid enclosure, with 1 seagate drive in there and 1 western digital drive in there, both of similar size and in raid with each other. So about 2TB each. Is that a good idea?

I have both western digital and seagate and found both to be good. Samsung and hitachi are good as well. I have a pair of hitachi drives in my NAS right now

Thanks for the feedback. Hitachi are the one brand that kept cropping up as good when I googled.
