a profane existence
Well, it isn't exactly morning but I did come across this article about a psychologist and his depressing day of the year formula.

Basically, Monday January 24 is the most depressing day of the year.

Interesting as I had a lot of worries today. Such as, printing problems in Mac labs, left binder (with job application and resume) on the bus, worrying that I won't have enough time to study for Art History exam a few days from now...etc.

Hope you all had a good morning.

I actually started dating my wife on January 24th, 1994. I was fifteen years old and it seems like yesterday. Now, eleven years and two kids later we are still together. So here is a vote for how good the 24th is. :p

You know, somebody told me that stupid story this morning, and I've been hearing everyone else, at work and at home, repeat it to me all day. And here it is again.

I had a pretty nice day, thank you, and everyone already has enough bad ones in their lives without some egghead selecting them for us.

That guy needs to get a real job.

The only thing that depressed me after hearing about the story was speculating about how many dollars worth of government funding probably went into the study that produced this "fact". ;)

And I predict that the world will come to an end tomorrow. ;)

What worthless drivel.

I sorry to hear about you day joepunk. Hope that your life will be better from here out. That you will do well on your exam later this week. ;)

Nothing special happened yesterday. Just a typical day with the sun shinning. A beautiful view out my window at snow. :D

Happy Anniversary!

I to think that that guy had way too much time in his life to be able to create some silly, trivial, useless, formula. It sounds like something some friends of mine I used to work with would create for the joy of it. And they did think of some really stupid math formulas.

Was I depressed? No. Just so many things went wrong on that day. And I am sure that some more things will go wrong in the days to come.

someone actually paid for this guy to discover that?

I think the day might swing good/bad depending on where you are...

Philly & Boston - GOOD!
Pittsburgh & Atlanta - bad
NYC - bad (lots o snow)
Brasil - never bad.

Thanks

On top of that my InDesign files (including the backup) went corrupt at on me at 10pm that night and I have to redue everything. Oh what fun. Like one of my teachers told me "It's not a real job unless something goes wrong".

Happy to hear of your happy life. Amazing in itself that the girl that you met at 15 years of age and still happily married. Means that you are doing something right. When did you actually marry your bride?

1/24/05 has been the best day of my week so far!

Classes canceled (it was supposed to be the start of the spring semester too!), got to drive in the snow (FUN! :D), then I went to Applebee's with my cousin and some friends. It's a Good Day™

Don't know whether I'd call it depressing or not, but I didn't find out that it was supposed to be until the day after since I was asleep in bed with a cold almost the entire day. On second thought, if you put the hacking aside, it was probably a pretty good day!
