Good News for Canadians

As you know, Income tax software for Mac is non-existanent for us. I've been using StudioTax (free) for Windows for the last few years, and have been annually asking them if they are developing a Mac version, with always a "no" response. To my surprise, this morning I received a positive reply (below). It will be released in late February and should be CRA approved in March. I'm doing my happy dance!!

We do have a 2013 Mac version being certified by CRA. We do not know if and when that will complete. Hopefully before the end of March.

Me too. However, if not this year, then next. At least they took the plunge..there's not a whole lot of Mac Cdn tax software out there (if any at all).

There's another Canadian tax program, Freeway, and it is CRA certified.

There's also Taxtron I haven't used it (yet) and it isn't free. $20 for 1 return.

TaxTron Individual License for Macintosh allows you to prepare and file one return with total income of $31,000 or more and 19 other returns with total income of under $31,000 each.

I'm probably more likely to use TaxFreeway, until StudioTax becomes available.
