I've got an option for a 2014 15" rMBP 2.5 i7 w/512GB SDD 16GB RAM, and dGPU for $1499 shipped from B&H Photo (so, return policy protection, time to check it out, etc.)

I need to replace my 2009 13", and even though a new MBP is about to come out, I won't be able to afford the new one, and I still think this price is cheaper than a 2015 will be with the same SSD in the refurb store.

Good price???

You can't return opened computer to B&H. Check their return policy on their website. Unwrapped/opened computers are listed under the "Final Sale" section of their return policy.

I believe that's for new computers, not used. At least, that's what I was told when I called up to verify.

At any rate, you can certainly return a defective one.

Ok cool. Just wanted to make sure. Return policies still slide around in snake oil often enough you have to make sure.

That seems like a $1000 saving, so I should think you can work out wether it's a good deal yourself.
