I'm thinking about picking this up locally.

It seems to be in great condition, it comes with the Apple case and another leather case, and has a screen protector on it. Includes original box, and has AppleCare through December 25th, 2013.

What's a good price on this thing?

I would pass. Apple.com has them in their refurbed section for $349 + free shipping + warranty for 1 year.

If you can get the guy to go down in price a bit, then it may be worth it - but that is up to you. Is it wi-fi + 3G or just wi-fi? APPLE

It's WiFi, 16GB. Purchased this past Christmas, and has AppleCare until December 2013.

Includes the genuine Apple Case, a screen protector (already installed), and another leather case.

You think it's a pass? At what price would it be a good deal?

Sounds like a decent deal to me, only because of the extended AppleCare warranty. Are the two cases included the ones YOU would use? If not, then not so great deal.

Maybe you can persuade the seller down to $300.

yea i almost feel like applecare with ipads is overrated squaretrade is a much better deal in my opinion as accidental breaks are much more likely then hardware

iPad AppleCare only extends the warranty to 2 years, so how does it expire in Dec 2013? Seller used his time machine from Dec 2011?

If you call around to some Verizon stores you maybe able to still find an iPad 1 64g units for $400

Wait, if the seller bought it in December of 2010 then it should be under original warranty until December 2011. If he purchased the additional 2 years of Applecare then that should last until December 2013.

This is a good deal if you really only need the 16GB. If its in great condition (which you can verify before buying), then this is cheaper than an Apple refurb if you are in a state with sales tax.

You should be able to find one without Applecare for less, or a 32GB for under $400, those would be your other options.

Click the link, or at least make sure you're right before giving advice to the OP.

AppleCare on an iPad extends the warranty to 2 years from the date of purchase, so December 2013 is not AppleCare.

The best price i can get him to is $330, and he'll throw in an Otterbox Defender case for the iPad (new).

Decisions, decision...

You didn't answer my post, how is the warranty out to December 2013? Something doesn't sound right.

Ask for the serial and check it on the Apple site.
