I recently found an original Macintosh M0001 for sale $50. The seller says it worked the last time it was used, that could've been years ago. Anyways, is that a good price for that machine?

Yes it's an awesome price IF everything works. Floppy drive might be dead, for example, in which case you couldn't even boot the computer up. I think it makes more sense to get an original compact Mac that can actually do some work - like an SE/30 with a 40 MB internal hard drive you can load up with applications.

You found one for $50, and you came to post about it?

It's -gone- already if someone else found it, too. ;-)

It's not in my immediate area, asking a friend to get it for me

Always run to buy a good offer. There was an original Apple II being sold for only €200 with two drives and a monitor. I've seen them go for over a thousand, and the owner had no idea of how much it was worth.

I foolishly asked about how much it was worth but I regret waiting because it was gone when I rang back :(
