I am wondering about using a Mac for school (12" PB or MB or something like that) and I'm having troubles finding some good software. I need good note taking software I can create diagrams in, and a nice calculator program that emulates a TI-8x as well as possible. Any other things that could help a student would be nice. So far all I can come up with is Circus Ponies Notebook, but I'm not sure if there's a diagram creation feature. Any help?

Regarding a notetaking app, I saw a thread a couple of days ago where mr members discussed several apps on the market. Try searching the forums.

Apps depend on cost

Also do you want audio note taking then ms office 2004 for mac is a good choice with audio notes built in as far as diagrams i use omnigraffle and the concept suite such as concept draw as far as calculator this may do the trick http://randy.gluvna.com/randy/ti8xemu/

I've been hunting for a note-taking app too, but I haven't found anything to do diagrams really quickly - I found it was just easier to go old school with paper.

For any students writing long papers with lots of footnotes, Endnote is always worth a look.
