Now I know everyone is going to say we have sportstap, sportacular, or any number of other apps that are out there now, but I came to att fro Verizon where I was using ESPN's mvp app so none of these even come close to being good enough for me.

I want something that updates scores faster, updates the standings after the game instead of the next day, and something that has an overall scoreboard as well as good individual in-game screens. I would even pay for said app as long as it didn't have these crummy banner ads that all of the sports apps currently have.

I've been using sportacular and really like it a lot. The new one, isports, seems pretty good too. I think if that kind of thing isn't good enough for you, you're probably going to have to wait and see what develops as time goes by.

espn.com has a version catered to the iphone format
I have a bookmarked icon for NCAA FB on the home screen and use it regularly when sportacular doesn't update the BCS standings etc fast enough

None of the current sports apps in the store are good enough IMO.....I'm hoping a developer will see this thread and come up with a better app, with a nicer interface and faster updates, and most of all "no ads"...even if they have to charge for the app.

I was holding out hope that espn would come up with an app like they have for Verizon's service where the score updates live, so when a team scores on tv, it would literally show up on the phone right then as well. But I believe espn has an exclusive contract with verizon, so I'm looking for other alternatives.

Espn

The ESPN Mobile Site is by far the best thing around...I have used all of the Apps and keep going back the the ESPN site, they have a very nice iphone formatted site that updates instantly....

The ESPN iPhone website is the best. You might as well bookmark that site to your home page and consider it an iPhone "app". It does everything you want it to do.
