need: mini display out (for 24" monitor that I currently use) and 2 USB 3.0 or more would be nice. I have one USB3 drive, and another on the way.. expansion would be nice too

surely prices must have gone done a bit

I may jump on this one as well. Is it any good?

seems like main complaint is the USB 3.0's aren't powered. I think I can live with that for this price though especially since my current and on the way USB 3 drive are both wall powered.

Seems to work with mini dp too, hmmm.

this one for same price is USB powered. very tempting to hop on it.. Will likely need a thunderbolt cable as well.

$160 from newegg!

Not a big deal for me too. Thank you!

Looks like me paying for that powered Belkin one and a $20 thunderbolt cable, I'd be looking at about $145 good to go.. Not the best but not bad either! Plus it would be great for just plugging in power and thunderbolt and being good to go with my faux desktop... hmmm

Still two cables to plug in. I wish they have a solution to plug just one thing, even wide one, but just one.

Finally bit the bullet after wanting one of these for quite some time (but laughing at $299 price tag well before they came out finally) and placed an order for it on Newegg.

$159.99, no tax and free shipping, and getting $15 back with an Amex deal... if you have sync, #AmexNewegg on twitter and good to go for purchases over $150.

Essentially $145 from a no hassle return policy reputable place, and new. Worth the $20 over what I would have paid with that eBay link and tax.

Hope it works perfect with my mini display to DVI monitor, if so I'll be very pleased! This, my two USB 3.0 externals, and using third usb to my usb 2 monitor hub (which at this point will be only keyboard since I'll plug ethernet in too and set my moonrise USB ethernet stick aside), and access other USB 2.0 ports if need be.

Thrilled to tidy up my desk and make tethering and untethering (No, not jailbreak :D) to my desk a quicker process than plugging up both USBs, mini display, and power!

Going to get one of these as well:

$20!

edit: ahhh verification problems with newegg again. its like they don't like me to buy there two days in a row or two times in a week :D

I'm surprised these haven't come down more in price

Intel must have a hex on licensing costs

Well here goes! Got one 3TB and one 2TB on the way and finally got an order through I do believe.

I hope its worth it :D

I have the Belkin and the Elgato and notice that the speed throughput on the USB3 ports for the Elgato is faster.

I ran some Black Magic tests a while back and used a raid, a single 3tb, a single 4tb and ssd's.

In general the Elgato returned faster results. Not huge but average of 25-35MB/s more throughput.

I liked them both, just prefer the Elgato now.

just got my dock, looks brand new! even came with original box and the back had plastic wrap on it :D

so far everything's working great.

xferring stuff to my usb 3.0 hard drives is BLAZINGLY fast compared to usb 2.0 i've been using for years. even external to another external, FAST!

Already incredibly pleased! Finally I got in on it, but only after waiting for the right price for what seemed to be an eternity.

It FEELS as if I have a brand new machine :D

total cost for this set up $90 between dock and cable. now thats more like it
