Good U stands ... and MBP heat with glass desk?

My desk is glass (tempered - duh) and I did notice that MBP's at BB were a bit toasty... and dissipation issues caused with glass?

Also I would like some ideas for a U stand (the shape they have) as when this little guy is at home I plan to have a monitor attached as well as external devices (like kb/mouse).

Since MBP's don't have docks, is there anything similar? I don't relish disconnecting everything all the time when I take this with me (usually to work to keep my email private but also during summer trips)

Interesting attempt, but I am more concerned about my video connector than usb connectors (I can hub all of them)
