This is happening all too frequently - I'm in Safari trying to get onto any number of forums which feature some sort of ad system from Google (or a company imitating Google).

Safari just sits there loading because it's not getting any response from Google's servers.

Activity shows such things as:

http://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/test_domain_js - the request timed out.

or

http://www.google-analytics.com/ga.js

Is there any way to cancel these stupid javascript actions when it's becoming obvious there's no response from their server?

I'd find it very hard to believe that these sites are genuinely not available to provide you content. They're two of the biggest ad and analytics sites in existence. They don't go down or get overwhelmed by traffic.

I'd guess a DNS problem, but to be sure, can you try the same pages in Firefox?

I have both *doubleclick* and *google-analytics* blocked by ad blockers, so I never have problems with such sites.

It's still happening unless I disable javascript. Same happens in Firefox - on this forum it says it's waiting for s0.2mdn.net at the bottom.

I'll try Safari Adblock.
