Google's laptops -- made by Samsung and Acer -- are now the two top sellers on Amazon.com, and six out of the top 14 are Google Chromebooks. Talk to many schools and you'll see them either throwing out Microsoft and Apple products already, or plotting to replace them with Chromebooks in the next year or two.

I think in the end, most schools are going to regret the Chromebook purchases in the long run. Consumer grade machines are not going to last educational use.

Google Drive is great though.

McDonalds or Burger King both sell a zillion hamburgers, but that doesn't mean they're any good.

It just means more people are willing to accept a lower grade product when they can get it faster and cheaper.

I had a Chromebook for about a month earlier this year. It was cute for the first couple of weeks but I ended up selling it.

I could see why schools would want to use them they are significantly cheaper than a windows or mac computer. You also pay for what you get.
