Google Calendar alerts

I kicked iCal to the curb in favor of google calendars. Exchange sync is all set up, calendars show up in the calendar app, but alerts that are set to "pop up" in Google Calendars dont alert me on my iPhone. Does anyone have an idea on how to make this work?

Under your list of calendars in google calendars, go to calendar settings then to the mobile setup tab. Should be able to set it up there.

I have to verify my phone number just for pop up alerts? I dont want any SMS or email alerts
