I don't see this as a MacRumors issue, but rather a Google Chrome bug.
I'm using the latest chrome on OS X: 5.0.375.55
And the macrumors.com homepage shows up without any formating, as if there were no CSS file. All other pages show up fine. Reloading does not help. All other browsers render correctly. Strange. I thought this was supposed to be out of beta now?
That thread makes no mention of google chrome being a problem. Not sure really if it is a chrome problem or MR problem. This is a known issue and is still being diagnosed: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/921211/

Re-read your original post. You mentioned nothing of Google Chrome being the issue.
From my original post: "I'm using the latest chrome on OS X: 5.0.375.55 ... All other browsers render correctly."
Also note thread title: "Google Chrome and MacRumors strange problem?"
I think this would strongly suggest a Google Chrome issue.
