Google Chrome not opening links

Hi, I recently installed Google Chrome and made it my default web browser, but whenever my friends send me a link on Adium or I open a link on a Pages file, it opens with Safari. I deleted Safari, Firefox and RealPlayer, but not it opens with VLC. Could someone please help me?
