Hello!
Hope everyone is well and safe.
Upgraded to a newer MBP and installed Chrome as usual and logged in to my gmail account to sync everything a. I usually have a few workspaces with different tabs for easy access. On the new MBP, for some reason the same Chrome tab keeps jumping between workspaces and it doesn't stay on workspace that is supposed to stay in.
For example: I have BBC News opened on workspace 1, when I move to workspace 2, the tab with BBC comes along, same with if I move to workspace 3. I can create new tabs, however, they too move to different workspaces and it feels like they are all 'locked' to workspace 1.
When I try and drag a chrome tab or all tabs it gives me one of those 'not allowed' signs. Ultimately it is hindering work as whenever I switch from workspace 1 (I read my textbooks) to workspace 2 (where the document is for note-taking) I am faced with Chrome tab and after a split-second the word document pops above the chrome tab.
For workspace 3, I am running my final thesis essay and even for that, the above happens; the Chrome follows and a split-second later the word document pops up. But no other app has this, even Safari stays in their respective workspace as well as Firefox.
If Workspace 2/3 have tabs of their own, they too follow to other workspaces and the only workaround is to minimise tabs, get to the workspace and open it, which is a chore. I noticed this also happens with Spotify app, it moves to all workspaces unless closed/minimised.
Hope I was able to explain the problem, any help is appreciated. I tried deleting the app and re-installing on my old MBP (which was running fine with Chrome) and the issue didn't present on that one. I re-installed 3x now and the issue persists.
I have tried troubleshooting steps including SMC/NVRAM reset from Apple's live chat advice but nothing (they were pretty useless at helping). I have also re-installed Chrome and disabled extensions as well as malwarebytes/app cleaning etc. i have tried shutting down, restarting and etc. When the Mac was brand new (3 weeks ago) I also did a hard reset but nothing.
Literally not sure what is going on, I even tried resetting the Mac at the beginning but nothing. My S/O also bought the same Mac as me and she doesn't have these problems so now worried if its a Mac problem or am I doing something wrong.
Model & OS --> '19 MBP 2.4GHz, 256GB // Catalina 10.15
Thanks for any help, going crazy over here!
