Its looking more like Google Chrome is picking up the mantle of easiest way to get malware onto a computer. Had a load of support requests from both Windows 10 and macOS users over the last fortnight with various browser hijacks. Neither the antivirus or malware bytes seems to find the ‘infection’ and it even manages to be passed to the users other computers via Google chrome sync.
The chrome version of web page notifications also appears to be easy to hack, leaving the user with a stream of pop up notifications for various porn sites or similar.
Can you imagine the press coverage Apple would be hit with if that happened to their browser?
Anyhoo, the best way to prevent this happening again is to use any alternative browser, suggesting a Firefox on PC and Safari on Mac.
