There has been much hype about google chrome lately, mainly due to the sleek interface & syncing between the computer & iPhone. However I still found it sluggish at times on my iPhone 3GS & loading pages sometimes lag, scrolling also stutters at times.

Recently I tried using opera mini for a change & boy did that change everything. Loading pages were lightning fast as the pages were mostly rendered on their server site & then sent to the phone, helping to save data usage & provide a speedier experience at the same time. Loading the full desktop version of nytimes took only less than 6 seconds on 3G(not joking). And I was wondering why not many people appreciate such a good web browser alternative. Is it because the desktop version of google chrome is more popular, that's why people like the mobile app as well?

Personally I use atomic browser (adblocker, downloads, dropbox support, full screen mode, gestures) but I know people like chrome since it syncs everything on your google account. Say you make a bookmark on your phone with chrome you will also see that on your laptop later, real convenient.

As for speed I jailbreak and use the nitrous tweak to allow atomic browser to use the nitro javascript engine so its just as blazing fast as safari. You can use this tweak for any browser, google chrome included.

I see. But I don't jailbreak so I don't know how that feels like. I still think Opera is very fast!

I love the instaneous back to previous page from opera. But sometimes websites rendered weird, and takes a long time to open then suddenly all page finished loaded.

Ive been using chrome on my iP4 and its pretty quick, wasnt impressed with Opera Mini. Before Chrome, I used Perfect Browser because it had a lot of features that Safari was lacking. But once I tried Chrome, I ditched perfect browser because the difference in speed was like night vs day.
