I was planning to backup all of my novels and writings to an online word processor. I was wondering how reliable is Google Docs in terms of stability and being secure (I don't want people jacking my books), and ability to access the document worldwide. Would Google be perfect for backing up texts rather than an external drive?

I'm not sure about 'documents,' but aren't there also ways to use Gmail as a web-storage device? That would seem like the easiest way to backup documents, particularly if they are in variety of formats.
