google drive can not sync

i received an alert saying 'google drive can not since with my computer because the google drive folder is missing.

how would i retrieve the missing folder?

i see the google drive folder in applications & in favorites under applications i see a google drive folder.
when i click onto applications theGD logo appears with dates created / modified.
when i click onto th google drive folder under the favorites...under applications... i see 'sheets'
