google earth locking up my macbook pro

the title says it all... I started using google earth (latest build) and locked the machine up twice in 15 minutes. The entire machine was frozen requiring a shutdown (hold power button for 5 seconds).

Anyone else have similar issues?

I haven't encountered that in OS X or Windows.

What else were you running? Have you tried it in a fresh user account? Was your machine running hot?

first time, firefox was open, second time, just google earth. The machine was running fairly hot, but its been hotter before without issue. I'll have to try a different account.
