This is awesome news!

----------

My Nexus 4 has gotten so many new features and a much nicer looking OS from 4.2 while when I was on the iPhone for 3 years I never got this much in a year or so.

Google Voice is EOL by Google. You will likely never see it updated again, nor merged with hangouts.

That isn't accurate. While the Google Voice name will be going away, Hangouts on Android will be getting the same functionality as the iOS version soon. You'll still be able to make and receive calls from your existing Google Voice phone number, but it will be over IP rather a normal voice call.

Beat me to this! It can't come any sooner, Talkatone is so buggy right now =(

What you are saying is... Google Voice is dead and the way it functions will disappear? Correct? Hangouts will incorporate similar functionality at some point in the future, but it won't be Google Voice as we see it today.

So, I will repeat my last statement and let me know which part is inaccurate. ;)

I know what you are getting at though. Just having some fun. Wink wink. :p

I feel like I walked into a trap. ;)

Even though it will functionally be different, it would be nice if they'd let it integrate with the normal dialer app, though.
