google history - help

why does google save everything i've ever googled? is this an alterable preference in safari or in google? i've looked through both, but can't seem to find anything. help?

I'm running OS X 10.3.9 so I'm not sure if this applies to you also, but I was wondering the same thing in Safari and I seemed to get it. In Safari preferences under Auto Fill I unchecked "Other Forms". Again I'm not sure if this will work for you, but I'm assuming Safari should stay the same even under a different version OS.
