Has anyone else's google images been updated through safari? It's a new interface and won't let you scroll through the photos. You have to hit back and tap another photo. Very inconvenient.

same here, gonna have to figure out a way around it of use a different search method...quite inconvenient.

interface for me is like the desktop one. a big grid of images and you click one and it expands within the current view. can then scroll within the expanded bit onto next one etc.

this is a recent change but seems google is testing out different things on different users.

I actually just saw this last night.. Kind of a bummer.

I'll just use the Google Search app for now, I guess.

There's another thread on here about it. I noted that you can still use the Google App if you prefer the old method of scrolling (which I do)
Seems like Apple has deliberately crippled it because it's Google.

Bing all the way now for me, the image search is superb. I hate Google, they have introduced a poncey filtering system on their searches and I just don't like how they do business anymore. They were once the best out there but not for me anymore.

I had the same problem. It was EXTREMELY ANNOYING. What I did to fix it was simply turn off private browsing. You can do that by hitting the private tab on the bottom till its "un-highlighted". :D

I don't have that on... Not that I don't use it!

I'm going to jump in here and suggest that the issue with Google Images has nothing to do with iOS, but rather that Google have had problems rolling out the new version of their UI. I'd initially suspected 7.0.2 was to blame as the problem arose for me the same evening I updated. However it's all working for me now, still on 7.0.2, on my iPad.

There is no way ios is changing how google images are viewed, you are very correct. Just google trying out new things when it already worked before!

This has been irking me since the update too, on the other hand the old way I hated that I had to hit the link at the bottom to see the pic full screen and go through the website as opposed to just tapping and opening the pic.

Google must have been trying this new interface with iOS 7 users, but apparently they are changing it back on the iPad? They do this kind of beta UI testing with selected users all the time (including YouTube).

It's because iOS 7's full screen browsing didn't at nice with google's images view.

Swiping through photos in landscape would rest in the navigation bars coming back in safari, and would decrease image size by a third or more. THAT was inconvenient.

Conspiracy theorists would think apple did it on purpose, but I truly believe it wasn't. Sailing in any direction whe in landscape full screen brings the bars back, and it seems like google is working on a fix.

Then again, it doesn't mean apple's system is perfect either. Time will tell.

EDIT: just tried bong and the same problem exists with viewing images in landscape with their layout too. Try to go to another image and half the screen is gone due to nav bars. So annoying.

Apple has been working on kinks with full screen landscape safari throughout the betas. They still don't have it down.

Mine has now changed and is showing the desktop interface i.e. a large grid images. Click on any one of them and it becomes "swipe-able"
Excellent!
