I know few people use Google Latitude but I found it incredibly useful as a way of recording my travels. Better than a constantly-running GPS app that saves my location to a local file, Latitude has allowed me to have my travels saved in the cloud and lets me search location activity on a certain day. Sadly, Find My Friends doesn't allow for any archiving of your location, so when Google Latitude shuts down on August 9th I'll be frantically looking for a replacement.

Until then, does anyone know if I can easily download an archive of my complete location history?

Hey Jent,

You maybe interested in our offering: http://esplor.io

as of today you can import your Latitude history and we're working on apps to provide the location history recording aspect to replace Google Latitude.

We've got some great plans for auto analysis in a way that Google Latitude never did, e.g. transport type detection and auto annotation with POI metadata.

Cheers,

Tim
