Google Maps--Navi stay on?

Dont know if there is a tweak for this but as you all know if you are using the MAP for navigation puposes, after a few minutes it times out and you have to go back into your phone. I know keeping it open will drain battery but thats what the car charger is for till I get there...lol

So anything out there that will keep maps open whioe navigating

Would changing the Auto Lock to never work?

Guess it may? I was kind of looking for something to deal with Maps program itself, but Ill give it a shot
