Google Maps Not Displaying Properly

I run Safari under Windows XP. I have a problem in that maps in Google Maps do not get displayed (the rest of the Google Maps web page displays correctly). I recently upgraded to the latest Safari version on Windows (3.0.4). I am not absolutely sure of this, but I suspect this problem could have started after that upgrade.

Note that maps display correctly when I access Google Maps thru IE.

I cleared the Safari cache and cookies, but that did not help. Any ideas?
