Google maps or iPhone GPS glitch??

Using Google Maps to navigate via CarPlay today and the blue color that shows the active route went away... as did any other colors to show the slow traffic. It looked like the default map when not navigating. But it still appeared to be navigating and calling for a turn. Then all of a sudden still on the limited access highway ~4 miles from my destination Google Maps popped up the message that I had "arrived at my destination" and stopped navigating. In all my years using this tech I have never seen anything quite like this. Anyone else?

Since it was apparently showing your accurate location, I’d suspect an app issue.

I don’t personally use Google Maps but I’ve not seen any similar behavior with Apple Maps.
