Google maps used to do a great job pinpointing me to the dot all over the vancouver BC area. Now it will just get down to a approximate and woun't find my exact position (as seen on the image)

What I've tried so far:
- restore iPhone to factory condition in itunes
- restoring using the back up file
- restarting the phone by holding down the power button + home button
- going to settings -> general -> reset and reset location warnings, network settings as well as reset all settings at one point
- turn airplane mode on for 30 sec and then off again
- turn location services off and on again
- using google maps on a wifi network as well as 3G
- checking with a friends iphone who uses a 3G iphone on the same provider and seeing that his phone pinpoints him to the dot.

It used to work fine and i use this feature daily, but i am out of ideas, any help world be very appreciated

I have a similar problem, when trying to follow a route I see the blue dot in the adjacent feild rather than on the road like it used to. A real pain.
