I wonder if Google Maps will (initially) just be US only, or if it's based on the full Google Maps (ie. the whole world)?

I think it will be full, as you can already get a similar app from Google for other models of mobile phone here, i use it on my N95 and it works a treat.

So Google are already able to handle mobile map location queries in countries other than the US.
