In there any way i could turn off the net use for google maps.... so when i use it doesnt conntecd to the net?

Don't believe so.

The maps are not loaded on the phone's memory, they are pulled from Google's servers.

So you need network access for it to work.

Yeah, the maps aren't saved to the phone itself. Maps is basicly a client.
