I use the default Google Messages app on my Pixel 9 Pro XL for all my texting, etc... been happy with it for years, but lately it seems Google just changes things on how it operates way more often lately, and not a fan.

I typically text links and then a downloaded photo or meme to my siblings or friends on certain running text thread topics, today I do what I always do, click the little button to add a pic, but now the camera pops up first, where usually it would go to my most recent downloaded pic I saved. I don't like the camera popping up, and showing me my desk or table or wherever I'm at like I want to take a picture and share that. No, I just want it to work as always, show me the most recent downloaded pic or meme, etc...

Any way to change this?

Also noticed a change to Gmail recently too.

For years and years I have been using Gmail to send photos I take on job sites, that I e-mail to my work computer / work e-mail. They always come up as an attachment I can then save on my desktop and then share from there.

Well just recently, that's not happening now, the pics show up in the body of the e-mail, not as actual attachments anymore, and I haven't changed any settings whatsoever, this must be a Google change? This is a big deal to me, as I have been using Gmail this way for years, I start writing an e-mail, attach the photos and send, and they would always come through as attachments to download, but now they just show up inside the e-mail, and I can't click them to save or anything.
